Round Leaf

Tuesday, March 8, 2011 ·

Something you should know about 20 year old Sens prospect David Rundblad who just finished the 55 game Swedish Elite League regular season with 50 points. Good enough for 3rd in league scoring. Only two other D-men have finished that high in league scoring in the 36 year history of the Elitserien. 30 year old Par Djoos had 48 points in 50 games in 99-99 and 25 year old Mats Waltin had 44 points in 42 games in 78-79. Now, the bad news for Sens fans. Creative Mike typed Rundblad into the google translator and out came Round Leaf. Talk amongst yourselves.

We should force him to change his name to Hamrablad...that means pound leaf....I'm sure he'd be game.

Good lord. Creative Mike has a fierce amount of time on his hands. That said, Rund has two meanings. Rund also means "Thank god I'm not a".

All is not lost!

If Creative Mike had taken that extra "crazy person" step and researched what a Round Leaf was, he would have come up with "Anubias," which is a species of Round Leaf!

When translated from Latin to English, Anubias means ALPHA.

Don't you see! There's nothing ALPHA about a Toronto Maple Leaf.

....and...wait for it...ALPHA translated into Swedish is ALFA...Alfie...Alfa...Alfie...it all comes full circle, which is... ROUND!

The bigger question is, can he play defense? Karlsson only recently has stopped holding up his nose at the idea and the last thing this team needs is another -50 goal diffrential because the coach won't clamp down on wandering players.

SEL points, great. Let's see some results in the AHL/NHL before we get excited.
